History

Irving B. Selmer was National Vice Commander, 1977-78, and a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was also the brother-in-law of our first Commander, Val Alster, and was a great benefactor of Post 107, even though he lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The post was chartered on August 30th, 1978, with an early post home on Bell Road. The post moved to its current location at 20001 N. Cave Creek Road on March 9th, 1991. Many of the early members of Post 107 were previously members of Sunnyslope Post 75.

The Wyoming flag that hangs in the lobby of Post 107 was presented to the post in honor of Irving B. Selmer. It was sent to our first commander by the Commander of the Department of Wyoming. Commander Alster passed away before it could be displayed at our post. Mrs. Mary Alster requested that it be properly displayed to honor these two outstanding Legionnaires.
